Souls & Salvation – Matthew 28

Prepared by Ps Bryon Jones

More than anything else, the salvation of the world is in the heart of the Father. His desire is that none should be lost, no, not one. This is the reason the Father gave His Son to die, so that we could be saved.

2 Peter 3:9 reminds us that He does not want any to perish.

Salvation is at the heart of Jesus also. Even though He did not want to die, He knew that this was the only way we could be saved. His preaching, teaching, miracles and the casting out of demons were important but not as important as fulfilling His purpose, which was to die a cruel death so that we could live.

The salvation of the world was of primary importance to Jesus. His last words to us in Matthew 28:19-20, just before He ascended to heaven, were instructions on how to win the lost – and we all know how incredibly precious people’s last words are.

Winning the lost is important to the Father, it is important to Jesus, surely it must be important to us.
